Virtual Systems
New Virtual Systems were created to promote real life applications of learning material. The virtual systems can now be added to any diagram; therefore, the virtual system and controls can be on the same sheet. |

Simulation with free components and lines
You no longer need to connect the entire diagram to launch the simulation.
It, therefore, enables the user to simulate throughout the design process and make changes as he progresses. |

Dynamic measuring instruments
To avoid overcrowding your schematic with measuring instruments found in the main library, new dynamic measuring instruments were developed to conveniently monitor data at various points.
These instruments, accessible by a dedicated tool bar, can be inserted in a circuit during simulation. Unit and refreshment margin can be specified. |

Detection of Open Path
In order to optimize circuit design and connection comprehension, a diagnostic for open paths was added. By simply clicking on a path/line, all the fluid lines linked continually to the initial one are displayed in red, including the initial fluid line. All the other fluid lines and components are displayed in dark gray to further add to the line contrast. This new function is accessible from the simulation toolbar. |

Dockable Windows
With version 5.6, you can Dock the windows all around your diagram on the left, right, bottom, or on top. Once the window is docked, you can activate the “Auto Hide” function and the window will hide itself when not in use. Simply click on the Tab to maximize it again. You can also dock two windows together with the same “Auto Hide” capabilities. |

Gearbox
The gearbox is a set of gears transmitting mechanical force from a power outlet (electrical or combustion motor) to one or more receptors, such as hydraulic pumps or compressors. This component is used to distribute mechanical power, from an angular speed and a train device, to other mechanisms. The ratio of the box determines the variation between the entry and the exit speeds and couple strengths. This mechanical behavior is such that the input power is equal to the sum of the output powers, balanced by the mechanical rendering of each gear.
In Automation Studio, you can set the various gear ratios for the input and output speeds. |

Video Capture
It is hereafter possible to register and share, as AVI format files, all the actions accomplished by the user in both, CAD and simulation modes. Great for posting examples on websites for training and presentation purposes. |

References & Bill of Material
A reference can be associated to one element, to a group, to an assembly or a sub-component of an assembly. References can also be configured to display other information.
Bill of Material now, by default, displays the Component Name as well as the Quantity grouped by Component Name. Simply drop the Bill of Material on the diagram to have all components from your diagram displayed. |

New Plotter
The Plotter was completely redesigned to offer no limit to the number of curves as well as these new functionalities:
- Select a curve and go over all its points;
- Zoom horizontally and vertically with the buttons or the scroll wheel;
- Pan the image;
- Take measures between two points;
- Select and export one or more variables in the same file;
- Change the Unit directly in the Plotter

Electrotechnical - Panel Layout
The new Panel Layout module provides tools for the quick implementation and design of entire cabinets and boxes. Components can easily be inserted simply by dragging and dropping them onto the workspace. A DIN rail mounting for assembly grouping as well as ducting elements for wires are made available for quick design. |
