Procedure to update the single station protection Key (dongle)

 1.   If you have a new version of Automation Studio™, please install this new version before proceeding with the key update.

 2.    Re-plug your protection dongle in the parallel or USB port.

 3.    Start the new version of Automation Studio™.

 The Key information window appears (at this stage, the information displayed is still the information of the previous version.)

4.    If Automation Studio™ was previously configured to connect to a server, a few timeout messages might come out before the Key information window appears. Simply click on OK for all messages. 

a. Click on the “Network configuration” button.

b. The server name field in the Network configuration dialog must be empty. If not, delete it and then click on the “Configuration update” button.

5.   From the Key information dialog, click on the Key Update button. The following window appears:

6.   Copy and paste the Update and Validation codes that you received by email from Famic Technologies. Please do not type in the codes, simply copy and paste them in their corresponding fields.

 No Network code is required in this case.

                The following window appears.

 Note: Please do not copy the example codes shown on the following picture for your key. These codes are not valid and cannot be used for your key configuration. Only use the codes that you received by email from Famic Technologies.

7.    Press on the Key Update button. The following message appears.

8.   Answer YES. The following message appears.

9.  Press OK. The following message appears.

10.  Answer YES.

11.  Automation Studio™ is now ready to be used. To verify that the key is properly configured, click on the “?” menu, then select the “About…” option and click on the “License manager” button. The key information dialog appears, summing up all the required information.
